Who We Are

Aaron Swanger, founder and director of AmplifyIM, comes from a lineage of faith—both he and his father are sons of preachers. Raised just outside Detroit, Michigan, Aaron grew up ministering in various church settings. Over time, he grew frustrated with an emphasis on outward appearances rather than inner transformation. This dissatisfaction sparked a hunger for something deeper than Sunday morning services. In 2003, a profound encounter with the Lord shifted his path. From then on, he immersed himself in Bible studies, home groups, and prayer gatherings Monday through Saturday, while leading worship at a local church. His aim? To know Christ through His Body.

In the summer of 2006, Aaron relocated from Michigan to Kansas City, Missouri, joining the staff at the International House of Prayer. For over three years, he served in the Nightwatch section, leading worship and ministering during prayer sets from 12am to 6 a.m. In 2009, he began serving with HopeCityKC, an inner-city ministry of day-and-night worship and prayer led by Ray and Lisa Stribling. There, Aaron has been honing his calling to minister to the Lord and intercede on issues like addiction, homelessness, youth struggles, prisons, poverty, and the nation.

After nearly two decades in the Prayer Movement, Aaron and his team launched AmplifyIM in early 2023, stepping out of the prayer room to train and equip believers for personal and corporate renewal. AmplifyIM is driven by a passion to see the neglected altar of intercession restored, empowering believers with the confidence that God delights in responding when we seek Him wholeheartedly.
